Angelus Lava Orange Paint is a neon acrylic leather paint in a bright, electric orange, for custom sneakers and projects that need a bold pop of color. It's water-based and stays flexible once dry.
Choose 1 oz., 4 oz., pint, or quart. We've made Angelus products in Los Angeles since 1907.
Works on
- Leather shoes, bags, and furniture
- Canvas and denim (add Angelus 2-Soft for a softer feel)
- Wood
- Plastic and metal, mixed with Angelus 2-Hard
Before and after you paint
On leather, take off the factory finish first with 3 to 5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer. When you're done, seal it with Angelus 4-Coat for protection and the sheen you want.
Pro-grade paint, made easy for first-timers
- Angelus is the go-to paint for first-time customizers, and it's the same professional-grade paint fashion, footwear, and entertainment companies use to make costumes, exclusive pieces, and finished products. You get commercial-grade quality at everyday prices.
- Thin coats go on smooth, and the color builds with each one.
- Want to warm up first? Try a few strokes on the Angelus Leather Test Swatch, real leather with a smooth side and a suede side.
- You can always adjust. Dried paint comes off with Deglazer, or you can simply paint over it, so you can keep going until you love it.
- Free step-by-step tutorials on our YouTube channel and FAQs walk you through it. Not sure about a color? Check the Color Chart. Unused products can be returned within 30 days.

Common questions
Why does Lava Orange look see-through on dark leather?
Neon paints are naturally more translucent, so lay down a base coat of Angelus White or a similar color first for the brightest result.
Can you airbrush Angelus Lava Orange Paint?
Yes. Use an airbrush with at least a 0.35mm nozzle, and thin the paint with Angelus 2-Thin if you need it to flow more easily.
How much paint do I need?
A 1 oz. bottle usually covers 2 to 3 pairs of shoes completely. For a leather chair, plan on about a pint to a quart, and for a full couch, a quart or two.
